Fa Cup Double Bet
Leicester v Fleetwood town
West Ham v Shrewsbury.
Bet: Leicester and West Ham to win (2.1, Pinnacle)
FA Cup Double Bet preview
This is Premier League versus League One. Both games finished 0-0 in the first leg at home to League One teams, where the atmosphere was rocking. I feel very confident that the Premier Leauge teams will beat their opponents at home.
Leicester are doing very well in the Prem since the appointment of Claude Puel while Fleetwood are mid table in League One. I expect Leicester to start pressing the game straight from kick off and they should brush aside Fleetwood easily with pace and power.
• Leicester City have won 16 of their past 18 FA Cup home games against lower league opposition (D1 L1), winning each of their past five at the King Power.
Shrewsbury are 2nd in League One, so this will be the harder of the 2 matches, you can see that from the 1,6 odds too. But West Ham have been in excellent form recently under their new manager. They are undefeated in 5, drawing with Tottenham and beating Huddersfield 4-1 in their last match, away from home. In addition, West Ham may have underestimated their opponents in the first leg, but now that they shared a pitch with Shrewsbury, they know what to expect.
• West Ham have won each of their past seven FA Cup home matches against lower-league opponents, scoring 20 goals (avg 2.9 goals per game).
• The Shrews have never won an FA Cup encounter away to a top-flight side, losing nine and drawing one – with their last such match coming in February 1984, a 3-0 loss to Everton.
Bet: Leicester and West Ham to win ( 2,1 , Pinnacle).
To sum up, FA Cup is not like the League Cup. It is the oldest cup competition in the world and very respected in England so I fully except the Premier League teams to take it seriously and go for the win.
